No matter if you have cracked skin, dry lips, hands, feet or chafed skin, Aquaphor is here for you. Made with less than ten ingredients, it moisturizes and heals damaged skin by forming a protective barrier on the surface of the skin while allowing the skin to breathe.
This water-free, paraffin-based formulation forms a semi-permeable, protective barrier over the skin which reduces the rate of water loss. The ingredients Panthenol and Bisabolol soothe dry skin and help reduce redness due dryness. It also contains Glycerin to moisturise and replenish the skin's moisture barrier.
This ointment also conditions and protects the skin, and it is recommended to help prevent dryness associated with occupational skin irritants that will otherwise cause the skin to lose moisture and dry out (ex: excessive hand washing). Gentle enough for use on babies.
Eucerin Aquaphor Healing Ointment is well tolerated, gentle, non-comedogenic, and contains no added fragrances, colorants, alcohol and preservatives that could, in some people, cause skin irritation or contact dermatitis.

The cumulative irritancy and the sensitization potential was assessed in a 5-week dermatological study which enrolled 202 patients who did not have any visible skin disease, and were between 17 to 65 years old.

The ingredients work in complementary ways to speed up the soothing process. Paraffinum Liquidum and Cera Microcristallina form a semi-permeable, protective coat over the skin which maintains the natural rate of water vapour loss due to evaporation, which in turn keeps the damaged dry skin moist as the flow of moisture from the deeper skin layers to the upper layers is maintained. Panthenol & Bisabolol condition and moisturize the skin. The inclusion of Glycerin moisturizes the skin and replenishes its moisture barrier function.
